Why is it that Republicans... insist that Obama... is not qualified, to be the next President of the United States, due to his recent publicity and celebrity stardom, when two of their shining gems...
hail from Hollywood?

It's all about sleight of hand--magic if you will. Distract people from the real issues with these piddly distractions.

A more sophisticated example of this is getting people to believe environmentalists and those opposing oil drilling are responsible for high gas prices.

Hello! Iraq and the instability caused by Bush's war is the real root of the problem. Gas when Bush took office? $1.89 (or thereabout). Maybe we should blame the environmentalists for the housing market while we're at... they won't let us chop down more wood!

Unbelievable.

Montoya: I like the cut of your jib. I have always fought for the idea that stability in the marketplace will result in an economic boon, but alas our law makers see profit in wars; be them on terror (can you really have a war against an emotion? Why not a war on sadness or depression?) or on drugs (does the department of agriculture really need 2.3 billion dollars to fight the war on drugs? I bet they'd be pissed if that war was over!).
